Second Straight Doubleheader Weekend In Two Weeks For Chad Finley

“Short Trips in the home state with races at Dixie & Berlin up next”
Chad FinleyDeWitt, Michigan (Wednesday, August 1st, 2012): After winning Two Fast Qualifier Awards in less than 24 hours at Lucas Oil Raceway, located West of Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana during the 2012 Brickyard Speedfest in both the JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance and the ARCA / CRA Super Series at the immaculate oval within the shadows of the legendary, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Chad Finley and the Chad Finley Racing Team are looking to rebound from a series of highs and lows in Indy.
The highs included those first career Fast Qualifier Awards in both of Champion Racing Association’s Premier tours while the lows included finishes not up to the high expectations of CFR. Nevertheless, Finley and CFR team will keep digging and will jump right back on the saddle with another doubleheader weekend in both series’ in a two day span. This time, both events are in the home state of Michigan.
On Friday, August 3rd, the fast 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked paved oval of Dixie Motor Speedway, located south of Saginaw in Birch Run, Michigan will host the ARCA/CRA Super Series in the running of the Mid-Michigan Toyota Dealers / Draper 125 as the Salem, Indiana based series will co-headline “Big One X” with the Winged Sprint Cars of the Auto Value Super Sprints Series.
“Looking forward to Dixie. We ran second there back in June in the JEGS/CRA race and our Super Series car was awesome at LOR.” The DeWitt, Michigan driver stated. “She is fast and a good race car. We learned some things down there last weekend that really helped us. The entire crew; Jimmy D., Brian, Skylar, Bill, Steve and especially my Dad just do an awesome job for me here at CFR. I just can’t thank them enough.”
“I know our luck has been terrible to say the least but our race cars have been awesome.” He continued. “To get two pole awards in one weekend speaks for itself. Especially with the caliber of drivers that were there in both fields.”
Then on Saturday, August 4th, a trip in the opposite direction from the CFR race shops in DeWitt, Michigan is on the agenda as the team will head over to the famed 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Berlin Raceway, located west of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 10th race for The Berlin 100 Presented by JEGS.com & Boyne Machine Company.
“Berlin has its own character. It’s a tough place to race. We had fast car there for the Rowdy back in June. We will go back with the same set up and see what we can do.” The 20-year-old added. “Hopefully we can have some good luck this weekend come our way. Our marketing partners deserve it. I want to thank them all for their support. It has been overwhelming this year from them with all that we are going through and we appreciate that. Will just keep building good cars and the door will open for a victory. That’s all we can do.” He ended.
In nine JEGS/CRA races so far in 2012, Finley has recorded one event win, the first of his career in CRA, which came back on May 26th in the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio. His win is part of his three top fives and five top 10 showings which all tie in with his first career Boyne Machine Fast Qualifier Award, which came at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana last weekend. Heading into Berlin, Finley is fourth in the season long title chase.
The 20-year-old Finley is amongst the all-time leaders in most statistical categories in the second year JEGS/CRA tour as he is currently tied for second all-time in career top five, tied for the most career top 10 finishes, fifth all-time in career laps led, tied for third all-time in career appearances, and second all-time in career laps completed.
All of Finley’s CRA cars sport identical black paint schemes as well as the familiar #42, with sponsorship support on each Ford Fusion from; Auto Value Parts Stores & Certified Service Centers, as well as AutoParts2020.com, XLT Engineering, NorthsideTowing.net, Rain Eater Wiper Blades, JEGS.com, Fatheadz Sunglasses, Nalett Trucking, Howe Racing Enterprises, The Air Lift Company, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Memphis Wood Fire Grills, Staubli Products, QuicShine99, Hyperco, Maurer’s Textiles, Superior Racing Images, & M.P.H. Button wins Formula One swim meet

The safety car leads a gaggle of cars through the rain on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Phil Carpenter, Gazette
It was a racing purist’s nightmare. But for anyone who loves motorsport for the fun of it, Sunday’s 42nd Canadian Grand Prix was off the charts.
Torrential rains, dozens of pit stops, strategies for tires, strewn car parts, incredible skill shown in blinding conditions, stewards’ investigations – all of it combined to produce a thrilling victory for McLaren-Mercedes’ Jenson Button.
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel led every lap but the final one, the only one that matters. Button seized upon Vettel’s bobble on a wet track to race past with the checkered flag nearly in view to earn his first Circuit Gilles Villeneuve win.
Here’s my column on a remarkable day at the track.
